The History of Technology in Language Learning

 

Hello everyone!

This is my first post about this semester's course Material Design in Language Teaching.

As our first assignment, we were expected to create a digital timeline on  ''The History of Technology in Language Learning''. 

In my assignment, I summarized the use of technology for language learning- from past (19760s) to present; including the eras, technological advancements and their reflections in language teaching. 

I should start explaining with the description of timeline. Timelines serve as a way of simplifying content and making it easier to grasp your topic for an audience.

 I used Piktochart for my assignment. While preparing it, I haven't had any problems as my purpose was clear and easy. Also, our teacher explained the eras I wrote about in my timeline throughout the entire lesson and gave us many examples about her teaching experiences. 

The technology use in language teaching has been changing rapidly and surely in our world. What we are learning today as an education tool will most probably be obsolete when we graduate and start to work as language teachers.
