FLIPPED CLASSROOM
Hello everyone!
In today's post I will share my knowledge about Flipped Classroom and the project we prepared with my group mate Eda Selimoğlu (stairwaytoenglish).
Let's start with understanding the flipped classroom approach. A flipped classroom is a type of blended learning where students are introduced to content at home and practice working through it at school.
In flipped classroom, students can choose the time, approaches and places they would like to view the learning material before class. This way, the responsibility shifts from teachers to students, resulting in a student-centered learning environment.
Flipped classroom approach encourages engagement and interaction, autonomy and self-regulation and it decreases classroom management problems.
There are many more advantages of this approach and we had a nice time while creating our project. We decided to prepare a video about 'Simple Present Tense' where we briefly introduced the subject and grammaticly explained with the help of the examples. To be able to check the knowledge of our students, we added a kahoot game at the end of the lesson.
It was an interesting and and enjoyable experience but the 5 minute time limit pushed us to keep the explaining part as short as possible. Nevertheless, I believe we managed to produce a useful project.
I hope you can enjoy our flipped classroom. Here is the link:
See you in another post!
Love, Liva.
